Our Approach

At Grow Strong Foundation, peace is at the heart of everything we do. Founded on a commitment to counter the decade-long conflict in Northeast Nigeria, we work to rebuild communities through inclusive peacebuilding and educational initiatives that enhance social cohesion and long-term development.

As communities begin returning home and insecurity declines, now is the time for peace to take root. Over the next five years, GSF will continue to lead locally grounded, culturally sensitive peace efforts, engaging youth, women, and community leaders through dialogue, education, and shared experiences.

Why It Matters

Sports and cultural activities are powerful tools for building peace. Recognized by the UN as vital to sustainable development, they promote values like teamwork, respect, and discipline—universal principles that transcend religion, ethnicity, and social class.

What We Do

• Organize youth-led and community-based dialogues to foster reconciliation and healing
• Mark key UN International Days with culturally tailored peace events
• Partner with like-minded organizations to deliver peace workshops and awareness campaigns
• Use media—radio, TV, and social platforms—to promote peace narratives
• Leverage sports and cultural events as tools to unite, educate, and inspire
