Timely access to preventive and high-quality response services for at-risk children
Child Protection
The child protection situation in Northeast Nigeria continues to deteriorate due to violence against children, trafficking, child marriage, children associated with armed groups, unaccompanied children, and growing numbers of street children.
These issues are exacerbated by a weak social welfare workforce, harmful social norms, recurring communal conflicts, and inadequate funding — leaving many children with no choice but to adopt harmful coping mechanisms.
